Counted among the most serene hill stations in the southern part of India, Ooty has its own mystic charm, second to none. It is situated at an altitude of 2, 240 mt above the sea level. Best time to visit Ooty
Though the hill station is really beautiful throughout the year, the months February to March are the best time to visit Ooty. The winter season is usually not preferred as the temperature lowers down, keeping the place really chilly. The temperature is usually less than 15-degree Celsius and comes down to 0-degree at times. Similarly, you should avoid visiting the place during monsoons due to heavy rainfall. During the monsoon season, the temperature in Ooty is at a minimum of 17 degrees.

Sprawling over an area of around 55 hectares, Botanical Gardens is located on the lower slopes of Doddabetta peak. It is divided into a number of sections and is a common attraction for tourists visiting Ooty. It is especially common among the photographers for its beauty, greenery and flowers.
An interesting place for the people inquisitive about the way fresh tea leaves are processed. It is frequently by a number of visitors especially kids. You can easily smell the aroma of the fresh tea leaves as soon as you are near this place.
The highest mountain in the Nilgiri Hills, Doddabetta is located on the Ooty-Kotagiri road. With a height of around 8,650 feet, it happens to be the highest peak in south India. Doddabetta Peak is also one of the most common trekking spots for tourists. The trek offers a number of picturesque views and attractive locations.
Located 28 kilometres from Ooty in the Nilgiris district, Avalanche Lake is a paradise for nature lovers. It is nestled peacefully in the heart of the Nilgiris, at a distance of 28 kilometres from Ooty. Camping besides and fishing is a whole new experience for travellers visiting Avalanche Lake. The place has been named after a landslide that occurred way back, in the early 1800’s.
A manmade lake built on an area of more than 60 acres, Ooty Lake is a must-visit for anyone visiting this beautiful hill station. It is graced by groves of Eucalyptus trees with a railway line running along one shore. The lake is said to be built by the colonial rulers in 1824. It attracts a number of visitors for its boating facilities with Paddle boats, Row boats, and Motor boats.. A number of boat racing competitions are also organized every year in May at the Ooty Lake. Thus, it is certainly the best time to visit Ooty.
Mudumalai National Park
Officially declared tiger reserve, Mudumalai National Park is located on the north-western side of the Nilgiri Hills. It is home to a number of rare species of birds and animals. The Bengal Tiger, Leopards, Indian Bison, Asiatic Elephants, are just to name a few.
