In the view of the Mahashivaratri festival, Tourism Minister V Srinivas Goud has formally launched the helicopter services from Hyderabad to Vemulawada for the devotees. Telangana Tourism Development Corporation in association with Telangana State Aviation Corporation has launched it.
The services are available in three packages. Devotees visiting Sri Raja Rajeshwari temple in Vemulawada can avail these services from Begumpet airport from February 19 to February 23 2020. In the first package tickets pricing Rs 3,000 devotees can travel from Vemulawada to the viewpoint. In the second package, devotees have to pay Rs 5,500 for a 16-minute ride, they will get an aerial view of Vemulawada and mid-manair dam storing 23 tmc of water. Six persons can travel in the package. The third package prices at Rs 30,000. It is for devotees travelling from Hyderabad to Vemulawada and in return to Hyderabad.
Apart from helicopter rides, the Telangana tourism is also operating special buses to Vemulawada and planning to popularise helitourism in the upcoming days.
All efforts were being made to operate helicopter rides to different tourism and pilgrim centres such as Somasila, Nallamalla, Srisailam, Kaleshwaram, Basara, Bhadrachalam, Yadadri and others. Numerous measures were undertaken to construct helipads at theses venues along with other necessary arrangements.
As per TRS MLA C Ramesh, the State government had allotted Rs 400 crore for development and beautification works at the temple.
After the direction of Municipal Administration and Urban Development Minister KT Rama Rao to tourism department, the arrangements of helicopter rides were made for pilgrims visiting the Rajarajeshwara temple in Vemulawada.
