1.A new lakefront destination – The Yard

Just opened in Dubai’s Al Khawaneej area, The Yard is a brand new destination for people visiting Dubai. The Yard beautifully blends rustic surroundings to urban accents, and is home to a rustic courtyard, a farmers’ market, a bakery, a lake and shaded walking trails. With some awesome street art to be found, and a ‘Promise Bridge’ where you can hang love locks, The Yard is a place you should definitely visit.

2. The Burj Khalifa light show

The Burj Khalifa light show on New Year’s Eve was a record-breaker. However, if you missed it, you still have a chance to experience the world’s tallest building in all its glory, since the light show has been extended until March 31. You can watch the seven-minute ‘Light Up 2018’ show at 8pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday, and 10pm on Thursday, Friday and on public holidays.

3. The Dubai Frame

Dubai’s newest and most anticipated landmark in Zabeel Park – The Dubai Frame – is finally open. The frame consists of two 150-metre high towers, connected by a 93-metre glass bridge at the top. An elevator takes visitors up to the bridge, where you can admire the panoramic views over old and new Dubai. There’s also a museum on the ground floor that showcases the city’s transformation from fishing village to thriving metropolis. The Dubai Frame is open daily from 10 am to 7 pm. There is a nominal entry fee for adults and children, while the elderly, kids under the age of 3 and people of determination are exempted from entry fee.

4. Dubai Safari

Dubai Safari is another long-awaited attraction that opened its gates in December to much fanfare. The wildlife park is currently home to 2,000 animals representing 250 species from all over the world, with more to arrive in the coming months. You’ll also find the world’s first drive-thru crocodile exhibit, the UAE’s largest aviary exhibit, and the UAE’s only drive-thru hippo and tiger exhibit. Located in Al Warquaa 5 district, Dubai Safari is open daily 9 am to 9 pm. Tickets are priced from DHS 20 to DHS 85, while the entry is free for the elderly, kids under 3 and people of determination.

5. The new Super club – Soho Garden

Open within the grounds of Meydan, Soho Garden is already one of the city’s hottest places to see and be seen. The first phase of the project features a daytime pool area and four bars – a Glasshouse Bar, Bellini Bar, Tiki Bar and Negroni Bar. But there’s still more to come. When fully operational, Soho Garden will also have a 10,000 capacity concert stage, nightclubs, pools and several other restaurants and bars. A must-visit place for all party animals.

6. The Dubai Fountain Boardwalk

The fountain shows in Dubai are one-of-its-kind and loved by all. However, the Dubai Fountain Boardwalk is the latest and best way to enrich your experience of the dancing water. The 272-metre floating viewing platform lets you watch the show from just 9 meters away. Considering the water show reaches heights of 152 metres, that’s mighty close. Located nextto the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Fountain Boradwalk is open from 5 pm to 11 pm daily.

7. La Mer – Dubai’s beautiful new beachfront destination

Located between Pearl Jumeirah and Jumeirah Bay, the first phase of La Mer, a beachfront development in Jumeirah 1, has been recently opened to the public. Upon completion of the project, the seaside spot will be made up of three areas: La Mer South, La Mer North and The Wharf. The areas open right now are La Mer South and La Mer North, which are expected to house more than 130 shops, cafes and restaurants.
